STETTEN, Germany ? Not that it needed much improvement, but the 2012 Ferrari FF has received a bit more power and a slightly sportier look from German tuner and longtime Ferrari specialist Novitec Rosso.
Novitec has remapped the engine electronics and fitted a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with quad tailpipes. The result is a boost in redline to 8,200 rpm on the 6.3-liter V12, with output rising to 696 horsepower and top speed climbing to 211 mph.
Additional hardware enhancements include lowering sport springs and a set of Novitec Rosso NF4 ultralight forged-alloy rims (21 inches in front and 22 inches at the rear). Pirelli P Zero rubber is mounted ? 255/30ZR21 front and 315/25ZR22 rear.
Novitec Rosso's carbon-fiber aero body kit for the FF bundles a front spoiler lip, side skirts, rear and roof spoilers, and a rear diffuser. The tuner also offers carbon-fiber surrounds for the black Novitec taillamps, with matching black side markers and LED rear foglamps, as well as carbon-fiber roof cladding, grille and mirror caps.
The carbon-fiber theme extends to the cabin, where the material is used for longer shift paddles and scuff plates. Customers also can order a variety of upholstery, color and trim options in leather, Alcantara and other materials.
Inside Line says: At least the mild tweaks don't detract from the FF's pure out-of-the-box styling.
