Chicago Cub Baseball Players That May Surprise You

post from Corner Lots Baseball on 08 June 2012 02:03:26 PM. ? Corner Lots Baseball

I always like the element of surprise. As I look over the 2012 Chicago Cub roster I see some guys that I really like. The kind of guys that offer the Cubs the potential of winning lots of ball games in the future. And with a lot of good players currently on the team, and I admire them all, three guys stand out in my mind for the moment.
Reed Johnson. I like his attitude. He plays to win and puts his whole heart into the game. He once said that he doesn't enter the game to be a fourth outfielder, but with the mindset to be a starter on the roster. Whether the manager takes him up on that is another story, but I like his attitude.
Tony Campana. Tony has the speed on the bases and in the outfield that excites a lot of baseball fans. It's like the old days when a player wasn't afraid to dive for a ball on the infield or leap the center field wall to catch a ball. Good for you Tony. I hope you have many good years to give Cub fans some exciting baseball.
Brian LaHair. Since he joined the Cubs as a first baseman he has brought nothing but excitement to Cub fans, batting from the right side of the plate and hitting 12 home runs to date. Even though he has spent many years in the minors, he now is a surprise to Cub fans and somebody to be reckoned with. Good for you Brian LaHair and welcome to the Cub team. ?
